A busy evening with shoppers and traffic on the streets of Huangpu. Thunder rumbles distantly at first, then closer as the rain turns from a sprinkle to a downpour. Moving down a narrow lilong alley, awnings spatter and drip. The rain finally clears, as the drains run and a lone scooter vanishes into the damp night. Strangely comforting.
